Subject to the size of the security cameras, the next phase stores will be equipped with either Samsung Techwin’s SVR-960 nine channel or SVR-1680 sixteen channel DVR’s.

Paul Miller, Integrated Solutions Director of Staines based RJ-Pro-Vue Ltd, who have for the last eighteen months been installing all the Disney Stores’ Security Cameras Systems, said: “Up until now we have installed another major DVR manufacturer’s machines. We have however a clear brief from Disney Stores that they wish to capitalise on the latest technological advances to create a safe and secure environment for staff and customers, as well as provide a deterrent to would be thieves. Technology has moved on at a rapid pace and our research led us to believe that the latest generation of DVRs manufactured by the professional security division of Samsung Techwin offers the advanced features and functions which best meet Disney Stores’ operational requirements.”

The SVR-960 is capable of recording real-time CIF (352 x 288) resolution images across all nine channels or D1 (704 x 576) resolution across selected channels, whilst the SVR-1680 is capable of delivering real-time D1 resolution across all sixteen channels. They can both multi-stream video over a network using MPEG-4 compression. They also have in-built DVD writers for easy evidence back-up and offer ATM/POS transaction data recording and search facilities.

Revitalizing our Economy

Bill has worked with a wide range of San Diego residents, companies and industries over the past 10 years. He knows first hand what high taxes and excessive regulation can do to our businesses. San Diego’s economy must be able to attract environmentally friendly businesses and industries that will provide high income jobs for our citizens. Biotech, high tech, and aerospace are just a few examples of the industries that provide so much to our local economy in the form of jobs, investments and charitable contributions. Efforts must be made to ensure that they, and similar industries, are attracted to San Diego so that the environment and lifestyle we enjoy can flourish for many years to come.

Taxes must be decreased or limited wherever possible. Families and individuals must have the opportunity to invest in their futures, and to stimulate the economy. The Capital Gains Tax, Alternative Minimum Tax and the Estate Tax are examples of the burdens that need to be reduced or eliminated.

On the National level, Bill supports contracting more services out to the private sector. He believes that our Government must be held accountable based on the benefits they provide and the costs that they incur. Government cannot become so large that it is unresponsive, nor so detached that it forgets its purpose of serving the people who pay for it to run. Departments should be subject to performance and audit standards that reflect business practices in the private sector.

Improving our Schools

Schools hold the future for our children, our families, our businesses and our government. If we fail to provide our children with the tools they will need to become productive and patriotic citizens, then we have failed our society as a whole. Taxpayers deserve school systems that provide the education that not only covers the basics, but that also prepares students for the competition they will face in a global economy.

Benefits for teachers must be increased, and there must be accountability to ensure that all schools are achieving standards that parents and teachers believe are important. High quality education must be available for all our students, leaving no school district or group of students behind.

Beyond high standards for performance, students must have access to computers and the technology that is an increasingly larger part of our growth as a nation. Bill supports increased funding for classroom technology efforts. Just as California leads the world in high technology, our classrooms should do the same.

A Strong America

As a former Army Captain, Bill understands the need for a stronger national defense. He will fight to ensure that the military has the necessary personnel, equipment, and funding to provide for our nation’s security. Specifically, he supports efforts to increase pay for members of our armed forces. Active duty personnel and their families deserve housing, adequate pay and facilities that reflect our appreciation for their service to our country. Veterans must have benefits and assistance which demonstrates the nation’s gratitude for their contributions and sacrifices.

Generations of Americans have worked and, in many cases died, so that we could enjoy the benefits that this nation has to offer. The only way to ensure that America is free from threats, and that democracy is secure for others, is for America to continue to develop the sophisticated defense measures needed to cope with an increasingly complex world.

Security comes from being prepared and determined. As a leader in the world community, America must accept the responsibility and costs that are part of setting an example for other nations.

Energy Solutions

California must be able to provide affordable energy for its homes and businesses. The solution to our current energy crisis is multi-faceted and complex, but it must involve the following:

New generation facilities: Prior to this year, there had been no new power generators built in California. Bill believes we need to streamline the construction process to allow more generators to be brought online.

Funding for alternative energy sources: Bill will fight to provide increased funding for research into renewable energy sources. We must realistically accept the challenge of generating more energy, while at the same time preserving our environment.
